Welcome to Lou Read Art! I'm so glad you've found your way here. I'm Louise, a pet portrait artist in the New Forest specialising in finely detailed, hand drawn pet portraits.
If you're anything like me your pets aren't just animals, they're the heart of your home. They're the loyal companions who greet you at the door and the quiet friends always by your side. That's why I'm so passionate about what I do.
Our pets play a very special part in our lives and my mission is to capture their story in the timeless, elegant detail of graphite pencil.
There is a quiet magic in black and white art. It focuses on the soft texture of a coat and captures the deep expression in a pair of eyes in a way that feels incredibly personal. Every portrait I draw is hand-crafted with the same love, care and attention you give your pets everyday.

Living in the beautiful New Forest I'm constantly inspired by the wildlife right outside my front door.From the iconic forest ponies to the quiet beauty of the woodland birds, I love using graphite to bring the magic of the wild to life.
I'm also available for wildlife commissions so if you have a favourite animal or specific forest memory you'd like captured, I would love to bring that vision to life for you.
